The Polynesian settlers brought with them maiʻa (banana) on their long voyage to Hawaii. It is known as a canoe plant - a crop essential for island living. Not only was maiʻa used as sustenance, but as an offering to aliʻi (ruling chief), a highly regarded gift, and as medicine for various ailments. The fruit was scarce in ancient Hawaii, and the banana was one of only a handful available.
This chocolate bar has 70% dark chocolate and is made from cacao, organic cane sugar, freeze-dried banana powder, and cocoa butter. The bar has a net weight of 2.1oz (60g) per bar, and for maximum flavor, you can store and eat the chocolate at 65-70° F.
