Kapa O Ke Kai
Hawaiians believe there is a balance between the ocean and the land. The ocean played an important role in their everyday lives as it provided food, medicines, and travel between the islands. This design was inspired by the various elements of the sea composed into a Kapa design that intertwines depicting the sea currents surrounding Hawai‘i.
