Haleakalā means “house of the sun” in the Hawaiian language and is the namesake of the dormant volcano that forms all of East Maui. It is also the home to Maui Tea Farm and the farm's award-winning premium black tea.
The Maui Tea Farm team grows their loose-leaf black tea in rich, organic soil enhanced by trace minerals deposited from historic volcanic flows. They meticulously handpick the tea from the first two leaves and buds of their Camellia sinensis bushes to craft an exceptional whole-leaf tea. The tea is grown without using herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers.
The flavor profile includes notes of apricot, caramel, and honey, accompanied by smooth tannin and slight savory notes. It contains caffeine but can still be enjoyed day or night throughout the year.

Brew Times & Temperatures:
- First Steeping: 2 grams of tea in 6 fl oz (180 mL) of filtered water at 185° F (85° C) for 3-4 minutes.
- Second Steeping: 6 fl oz water (180 mL) at 190° F (88° C) for 4-5 minutes.
- Third Steeping: 6 fl oz water (180 mL) at 195° F (90° C) for at least 6 minutes.
