This design is inspired by Naupaka, a Native Hawaiian plant. It has a variety that grows in the mountains and another that grows near the ocean. There are many versions of the mo`olelo or story that is shared about this plant.
A short version tells of two star-crossed lovers who could not be together due to another’s jealousy. The mountain and ocean varieties bloom half flowers, representing the two lovers. When the two flowers are brought together, they are made whole. The Naupaka signifies and represents love, family, and the support we give, no matter where we may be.
This single tea towel is perfect to use in the kitchen, bathroom, on table settings, and other home decor. It is also great for drying your hands and wiping up messes!
A Hawaii-inspired gift for a housewarming, Mother’s Day, birthday, or any other holiday or occasion.
