ʻIʻiwi or scarlet honeycreeper, is one of the most recognized honeycreepers we have here in Hawaiʻi. With its bright red feathers and long curved bill, there’s no mistaking it for another. Their diet consists mainly of nectar from nearby ʻōhiʻa and ōhā wai trees. Being highly susceptible to avian malaria from mosquitos, the ʻiʻiwi have been forced to live in higher elevation forests on Hawaiʻi, Maui, and Kauaʻi. ʻIʻiwi is an important forest pollinator that is responsible for spreading native seeds throughout Hawai‘i.
The 'I’iwi Uluna measures 14” long and is made with 100% natural cotton and stuffed with hypoallergenic eco-friendly recycled polyester fibers.
