Mahina Made is a small business owned by a Native Hawaiian family that was created in 2017. Its founder, Kailee Freitas, was born and raised in Hawaii and pursued her degree in Elementary Education. After she spent nine years teaching, she decided to make Mahina Made her full-time career.
Culture is at the center of Mahina Made and it is their mission as a lifestyle brand to perpetuate and normalize Native Hawaiian culture in fashionable, modern, and practical ways.
The brand also recognizes that large impacts can be made in the community when people come together. That's why, each quarter, Mahina Made donates a portion of its profits to various Native Hawaiian non-profits that do valuable work in caring for Hawaiian land, culture, and people.
