This native plant is distinguished by its fanlike shape and rigid, pleated leaves, realized in its namesake print. NOHO HOME plays upon Hawai`i's seamless approach to indoor/outdoor decor with Loulu, adapting it from its literal state into a bold, stylized graphic to bring strong visual elements of nature into the home.
Outer Edge: The designer seeks balance in all of aspects of design, of which the Niho or "shark tooth" print is a prime example. A traditional kapa pattern often depicted as acute triangles, it bears reference to masculinity and aggression by way of the manō (shark).
