    Ulu Leaf Tea Bag Pouch

Kilani Brew's ʻUlu leaf tea possesses a bouquet reminiscent of apricot, dried rose, and milk tea.  On the palate, the taste is calming, mellow, and nutty, with a slightly sweet, earthy note.

    Recommended Preparation

    Hot Brew:

    1. Place one teaspoon of loose-leaf tea into a tea diffuser.
    2. Place the loose-leaf-filled diffuser into a 6-ounce to 8-ounce tea cup.
    3. Pour boiling water into the cup and let steep for 15 to 25 minutes, until a rich color develops. Steep longer for a richer flavor.
    4. Remove diffuser, relax, and enjoy your cup of invigorating ʻUlu leaf tea!

    1. Add several teaspoons of loose-leaf tea to a pitcher of water, then refrigerate for 6 to 12 hours to infuse.
    2. Strain, and enjoy your refreshing cold-brew tea!

    About the Tea

Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis), or ‘Ulu, is a species of flowering tree in the mulberry family that has been cultivated for over 3,000 years.  It is widely consumed throughout the Caribbean, India, and Africa, and was historically a staple among Native Hawaiian people.  When ripe, the fruit of the tree develops soft, yellow, cream-colored flesh that carries its titular flavor.  Ulu tea is naturally caffeine-free, so it is a perfect drink for any time of day.

According to the International Journal of Developments in Technology and Science, ‘Ulu leaf tea is purported to have numerous health benefits, including regulating blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol.  ʻUlu leaf tea is also purported to help address weak bladders, heart disease, skin, and joint problems.
